Jamthund Aila, Norwegian Elkhounds Tuva and Tekla, along with Norwegian Elkhound pups Mia, Tiera and Kofu.

I recall the great hike I had with these tremendous dogs. Fully skilled in bear work and working in bear rich terrain. I would do Desna training using these three mentor dogs, Aila, Tekla and Tuva to train and begin early work with the young pups. The young pups think it’s fun and exciting but at the same time they are learning skills that last a lifetime. The skills are deep within them, instinctive and excursions like this “Wake Up The Instinct” . Aila has Nordic Champions in her background, as do Tuva and Tekla. I am the only breeder in North America that has such elite bloodlines. In fact, the only breeder of Swedish Elkhounds and to have a mentor like Aila was incredible.

I have a great video showcasing these fabulous dogs and their heritage. We currently have pups that are out of Ark, the full brother to Aila, as well we have pups out of Aurella, the niece of Aila. Aspen as well has pups and her mother Tika is a sister to Tuva and Tekla. We do have another Ark litter with Karia and also the Kaleva and Pretty Boy Leif pups, its a great time to get an Elkhound, especially full bear lineages.

Aila, Ark, Aurella, and Varella all have Champion Bear Hunting grandparents or parents. Amazing dogs. Of course Karu, father of the Aspen lineage and father of Kaleva, his mother Rittu is a Finnish bear Champion. Look no further in your quest for a great bear dog, we have them.
