These pups from Rita will be some of the very best in the world, her heritage is so strong. The mating with Pretty Boy Leif ensures both sides of the pedigree are loaded with the absolute best females. I’ll outline a few in this article, but it would take a very long post to outline the great background entirely.

Rittu is the mother of Karu, who is the father of Rita. Rittu is quite possibly the most astounding and accomplished female Norwegian Elkhound in the world. It takes an incredibly gifted female to become a Champion Moose hunter in Finland excelling against the very best. Her talents though to be able to focus in on a different scent when she is put on bear and to stay on track and task is almost hard to believe.

Most dogs get sidetracked by a Moose if trained on Moose, then worked on bear, every time they cross a Moose track they switch, but not her. She is so focused.

After her hunt Championships she was also show in Beauty, as you can imagine, she was able to excel there as well. The capabilities, the beauty, the history, the intense desire by the breeders to raise the best is evident in Rittu.

Rita takes a great deal of her skill and beauty directly from Rittu through her father the stunning Finnish stud, Karu. These pups will also showcase her incredible abilities and excellence.

Genetic diversity is ensured in these pups as Karu brought that unique and gifted bloodline to North America for the very first time. Never before has it left the old country. The match up with Karu and Kai was a match from heaven. Rita of course selected to carry that bloodline forward.

Considering that I spoke of the mother of Karu, I thought I would outline a bit on Zinny, mother of Pretty Boy Leif.

Zinny is also extremely gifted and is an exceptional female Norwegian Elkhound. Zinny is an International Champion, she has won Champion status in multiple countries and is a stunning beauty with a very strong heritage.

Zinny comes from one of the most respected kennels in North America, the Vin Melca kennels and she has proven to bring forward exceptional genetics. Pretty Boy Leif has been one of if not the most famous of her offspring in Norwegian Elkhounds, focusing his attributes on preservation and outcross sire.

We require extremely good outcross bloodlines when working as a preservation breeder. We can’t use just any lineage, they have to be as good as we can possibly get to keep our extremely high end working lineages as clean and profound as possible. Zinny allows us the opportunity through her son Leif to do that.

Just these two incredible females alone make the pups remarkable, but this is just a start, there are so many more great Norwegian Elkhound females which I’ll try to cover over the next while.
