The Norrland Elkhound lines have long been known throughout history as the keeper of the gate. This is not just a random saying, it’s legend, going back centuries to factual and right to today, this is still the case.
Tikka - Keeper of the Gate
Pure old hunting lineage big female daughter of Jaegar and Kamp, Tikka.
Tikka is the old working lineage that exemplifies the heritage. For centuries these big females have been guarding and protecting the yards and livestock and families on the trails, in the forests, but most of the time right in the yard. Remote conditions and living just puts you in a location that predators and varmints come into the yards. Destruction to livestock, feed supplies, seed grains, chickens, eggs, etc. all are under the watchful eye and nose of the ancient Elkhound.
Tikka has proven over many years her prowess at keeping her yard safe. Raccoons are the main issue she is facing, but she has snuffed out skunks, tons of deer moved off the garden, watchful all the time on bear on the trails, but for sure she is doing her job saving the chickens, eggs and feed and seed bags from the destructive behavior and habits of raccoons.
Linda has sent me a nice selection of the hunts, 2018, 2019, 2021 and she has more but this gives you the prowess of this phenomenal yard and keeper of the gate, Tikka. Tikka is bred to none other than Norwegian Elkhound Stud Karu, the Finnish hunting phenom, so the pups coming are going to be every bit as good and better, talk to us soon about these pups.
