This stunning young female Jämthund is Vada. She is a daughter of our Aurella and Posso. Wendy and Dale our co-breeders whelped the Aurella litter and two of the pups, Vada and Hada have just arrived here to spend time with me.
Jämthund Female Vada - Stunning Elkhound
Swedish Elkhound Vada is a beautiful representation of the Jämthund breed
Vada is heading out to a long time client of ours, Lindsay on the end of March and will spend her time on adventures with Ruhne, a magnificent old world Norwegian Elkhound male Lindsay got from us a number of years ago. I have a great video of Lindsay and Ruhne her Norwegian Elkhound Male when they came to visit. This is a great article about her first Male Elkhound Bosco, 15 or more years ago. Ruhne is a son of Jaegar and Kalia. Bosco was a son of Takoda and Mia.
These females are excellent companions, make incredible hiking and hunting dogs, the nature and instincts of these dogs is geared for that. They are calm and easy going in the home life, but can be a full tilt working and hiking dog when out.
The Jämthund females make excellent companions for the larger Norwegian Elkhound males when running two dogs. Two dogs have been recommended for decades here at Kamia Kennels as we believe two dog families have healthier, happier dogs all the time. There is just something about the big Jämthund females that fits with the Norwegian Males in play and tussle style lifestyle. The males can play hard as these big girls can dish it out.
Vada is a stunning dark daughter of Posso and Aurella, and we recently featured the Grandmother to Vada, Varella. Please by all means check out the foundation female Jämthund Varella.
Ark is the Grandfather to the amazing Swedish Elkhound and he brings in that bulk and big power you can see evident in Vada. Here is a very good article on the Unique Swedish Elkhound Ark.
Back in some time around 2016, roughly 8 years or so ago, I published a great article on Rico, the big Jämthund Male who was the initial stud to develop the lineage of Jämthunds in Canada. He was mated to Aina, our amazing Finnish import. Rico was also a Finnish import, Russ and Beth have Rico and are co-breeders with us. You can read about the big fella and Founding Jamthund Male in North America Rico.
I’ll be posting next day or so about the amazing sister Hada, she is also here and her and Vada are an amazing pair of Swedish Elkhounds. You can contact us about Swedish Elkhounds / Jamthund pups .
A sister to these two girls, Tellu, she will be having a litter this season, and we are excited about these potential pups coming.
I am enjoying my time with Vada and Hada, they love me, are great to be around and have incredible personal handler abilities. Best family dog ever!
