If you take a look at Jupiter, a son of Teeko and Karia who is 21 weeks old you will see a male Norwegian Elkhound that is literally unchanged in centuries. We literally have photos of dogs exactly like Jupiter, ancestors no doubt, from over 100 years ago on this site.

One of the most impressive young Norwegian Elkhound males in North America today, Jupiter!
The concepts and beliefs of our program today is as always for us, “To Breed What Was There – Not To Change”. We want to breed the exact same dog that was there 200 years ago. We are not trying to improve, what would we improve? There is nothing to improve!
This particular Norwegian Elkhound lineage has proven over the last many hundreds of years to be exactly what it should be, does what it is supposed to do, and we intend to keep that going forward. We intend to work to “Preserve” this breed and dog, instincts and behaviors all intact.
Jupiter is up with Michael and Sarah at the Athabasca facility, it’s smack dab in the wilderness and Jupiter gets to have training by the best mentor Elkhound dogs there is in remote terrain and he is flawless.
A perfect example of all the things we are working to achieve are shown in stunning glory with this young male.
