Fenn, a Norwegian Elkhound male owned by Kaeli and Matt, raised at Kamia Kennels stood his ground the other day when Kaeli was out for a hike in the North BC wilderness.

Fenn stood his ground for his handler Kaeli as the bear charged close to a few meters

Fenn is a son of Karu and Willow and his heritage and breeding played a big role when the chips were down and the instincts had to come out. Fenn has a long history of ancestors working bear and we have been so proud of these Norwegian Elkhounds.
I mentioned to Kaeli I hope she got him a great big meaty bone as a big reward for his bravery!

My hat is off of course to Kaeli and Matt, they have continued the good work with Fenn to develop him and keep him true to his roots. They are out and about in the wilderness, working him, training him to his instincts and every chance they get to spend time with him in the natural surroundings. Awesome!

Wendy and Dale are the Proudest of course, this is a Willow son, she is their pride and joy. Wendy has a brand new litter right now of Karu puppies from Willows sister Aspen as I am writing this they are about 21 days old. The cycle of great dogs continues. So hats off to our fabulous long term Co-breeders Dale and Wendy! Kamia Kennels has the greatest network of co-breeders, clients and dogs by far.
