We talk about diversity a lot on our preservation program but one of the key elements of preservation is to have the genetic depth for Norwegian Elkhound observation and quality. Without seeing the depth and watching it for a number of years, the more the better, you would not have much to go on.
Rigel and I - Handler Focused Pup
Rigel was one of the early Desna training pups I had. Amazing handler focus out of this rascal. This is the best handler focus genetic there is, he is a son of Jaegar and Kamp, truly astounding male.
Breeders that are in mainstream breeding rarely have more than 1 litter of a pair or for that matter rarely have siblings retained for observation, so they can’t get a quantitative measure of the quality and depth.
In our program at Kamia Kennels we have so many generations to follow and view, see how they react in situations, respond to events, we can follow the pups for many years, multiple pups, tons of related siblings and so on. Our ability to portray and showcase the depth of the genetics is quite honestly unmatched anywhere.
I will share an example, I have illustrated here three brothers of Tikka. Amazing boys, all of them. I spent a great deal of the early time frame with Rigel, he was one of my famous early Desna trained pups. Michelle came out for Rigel and hiked in the mountains with me and Rigel after his program she has kept him working straight through.
Ron has a great male brother to Tikka, his name is Ranger. This boy is stout, solid and dark, what a tremendous companion for Ron and his family. They stay in touch keep me posted on this big fella and provide a ton of feedback.
Another one of the big brothers is Riker, this is stunning male. Truly takes after his mother in color pattern and his head is literally the same. She is such a powerful female genetic that her and Jaegar are both strong and featured in the pups. Riker is a prime example.
These boys are premier Norwegian Elkhound males and showcase the extensive depth of this genetic. Tikka is going to literally be bringing males identical to these big brothers out in her litter. Combining the power of Jaegar and Kamp, through to Tikka who is herself a big girl, mated to the stunning powerful muscled in Karu, Wow! Talk about hiking dogs with stamina, vigor and attitude. Pure male powerhouses.
