Jaegar is a very distinct and unique bloodline that stems way back to the founding dogs of all Elkhound types and he and his offspring are maintained and managed through preservation breeding at Kamia Kennels only. Imagine that, a bloodline so profound yet found today in only 1 breeding program.
The preservation of this bloodline carries on today at Michael and Sarah’s, who through our co-breeder program have Silver Nessa, the famous daughter of Jaegar and Silver Nova, up with them now. They have just successfully managed to have Karu there and were able to witness a mating with those two phenomenal bloodlines.
What an incredible event for Norwegian Elkhound genetics. These matings of these crucial bloodlines of outcross genetics are profound. This is a monumental step toward the future preservation of this bloodline. We will keep a matched pair, male and female into the program from this.
Silver Nessa will whelp around that May 26th time frame up at Michaels and he will manage the young pups and work with them to develop the entire litter, but specifically engage the instinctive skill of the matched pair he keeps.
This preservation began a very long time ago when the stunning outcross female The Beautiful Silver Nova was imported as an outcross preservation female for the Jaegar, MANE, Teeko bloodline. The height of North America excellence in Norwegian Elkhounds runs in her background and now that her daughter Silver Nessa has been mated to Karu, the preservation is secured. Karu was imported from Finland and chosen and guided by the Master Breeders there who wish to help secure the Jaegar bloodline. He of course comes from the very best lineage they have as well.
This combination of Silver Nessa and Karu will bring forward an entire new opportunity for preservation. We are fairly confident that Kamia Kennels is also the only breeder preserving the parent genetic combination of Silver Nova. There fore these pups not only begin the preservation of Jaegar, but also Silver Nova’s parent combination. There obviously is no doubt the only work done here in North America with Karu is through us as well. But we have Karu preserved in many daughters.
Folks wanting the old bloodline Elkhounds now get that opportunity through this Silver Nessa litter. These dogs are the best in the world for off leash and remote terrain. They are some of the very best full instinct rich dogs in the world.
